Dr Kishore T A
One of the top Urologists in the region, Dr. Kishore T A has more than 17+ years of experience in comprehensive management of complex genitourinary diseases. Trained at some of the finest medical institutes in the United States and India, he is an expert in robotic surgery, renal transplantation, urological oncology, advanced endourology and laparoscopic urology.
Dr. Kishore is the first Urologist to perform NOTES assisted vaginal donor nephrectomy, robotic assisted radical nephrectomy and IVC thrombectomy in India; the third in the world to perform Transvaginal Assisted Robotic Renal Transplantation; the fourth in world to complete 50 robotic renal transplantation surgeries, first in south India to perform Robotic Assisted Renal transplantation and second person in world to perform Level 3 IVC thrombectomy with suprahepatic clamping. He is the first person in Kerala to do robotic surgery.
Dr Kishore is fellowship trained in USA from University of Miami under the pioneers in Robotic surgery and Urooncology. After working in USA for few years, he came back to India and started the robotic program in Aster Medcity. He is the first person in Kerala to start Robotic surgery in the year 2014. He is a pioneer in RetziusSparing robotic prostatectomy in world, which is a special technique to avoid urinary leak and reduce the chances of impotence. With this technique now the urinary leak rates have reduced to less than 3%. He has performed more than 1050 robotic prostatectomies and all together 2700 robotic surgeries. He has the largest series of Robotic prostatectomy in Kerala.
